Teamsters File Serious Election Objections

The Teamsters filed formal objections to the recent CAL-UAL-CMI elections with the National Mediation Board. This is not a “sour grapes” filing.  Rather, the objections are based on highly abusive misconduct on the part of the IAM during the election. This includes the allegation that the IAM improperly used a hyperlink in its communications that could permit it to know who voted and even alter the election outcome. In addition, the Teamsters assert the IAM ran an election using goon-squad threats, harassment and intimidation. All of this took place within the context of a very close election—if the IAM had received 11 fewer votes a re-run election would have been required.
