Together, we have successfully chosen to form our union with the 1.4-million-member International Brotherhood of Teamsters. WE will remain steadfast and strong in our beliefs that achieving real change in our workplace comes only with building a solid foundation. WE will continue, in unity, to work daily to achieve our ultimate goal of performing our duties under a Teamster contract. WE will tackle challenges together as one and we will win through our alliance and reliance on each other. As Teamsters, WE win. And, as Teamsters, we will be reaching out to our UAL brothers and sisters to build unity between our groups as the merger moves forward.

Teamsters File Objections To CAL-UAL Fleet Service Elections

(WASHINGTON) – The Teamsters have filed objections to the recent Continental-United fleet service elections with the National Mediation Board, Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa announced today.

Teamsters File Serious Election Objections

The Teamsters filed formal objections to the recent CAL-UAL-CMI elections with the National Mediation Board. This is not a “sour grapes” filing. Rather, the objections are based on highly abusive misconduct on the part of the IAM during the election.

Dear CAL-UAL-CMI Ramp, Cargo and Operations Agents:

Most of you have probably heard that the Teamsters were narrowly defeated yesterday in the National Mediation Board union election vote count. The Teamsters received 5,257 votes while the IAM received 5,568 votes. We are obviously saddened and disappointed in this outcome.

The Teamsters thank you for your support. In particular we deeply appreciate the hard work that many of you put into the campaign. We deeply appreciate your vote, your commitment, your thoughtfulness and energy. It was a pleasure and a privilege to represent you and work with you.

Currently we are looking at our options and, as always, we will keep you updated.

Attached is a letter from Captain David Bourne, Director of the Teamster Airline Division. Feel free to distribute this letter to your co-workers.

Please contact us if you have any questions. We wish you the very best.
